LITERACY AND ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE:
Window to the World is an interactive curriculum for beginning to intermediate students using the JESUS Film to teach English as a second language as well as "deepen a student's understanding of who Jesus is and what He came to do." The 12-lesson curriculum comes as a cd-rom with clips of the JESUS Film embedded into the lessons; a separate DVD of the JESUS Film is also included.
All ESL contains a wide variety of games, activities, and worksheets for teaching English as a second language.
The Good News Coloring Book, available for free to download and print in over 125 languages, is a great resource for teaching English as well as other languages as it is available in dual-language format with many language combinations.
Literacy & Evangelism International provides materials for literacy programs and English as a second language. They also produce Bible-content primers in over 260 languages, many available to download for free and others available upon request.
After attending a training on Teaching English as a Foreign Language, I was given a list of the following online resources. These are not from a Christian perspective and are primarily for British websites, but could be helpful in planning lessons.
